IELTS General

If you want to train or study below degree level or to immigrate to an English-speaking country (such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or the UK), opt for the IELTS General Training test.

General IELTS Preparation

The IELTS general training test evaluates your ability to communicate proficiently in English. This test is for non-academic purposes, such as professional licenses and immigration visas. The IELTS general speaking and listening IELTS general exams relate to the IELTS academic test; however, the general IELTS training test also includes a unique reading and writing section.
At OIS, we have experienced online tutors to help you prepare for the IELTS general training exam faster. You will discover in our course a handful of helpful study materials to pass the test with a high score.

Understanding The General IELTS Listening Test

  • The IELTS general listening test assesses your listening abilities in a native English accent and voice. It consists of four different audio recordings, and you get a series of 40 questions to answer in 30 minutes.
  • The IELTS general reading test takes 60 minutes and includes 40 questions to examine your reading skills. To read and answer, it contains three text sections based on different complexity levels (short, long, and complex).
  • The IELTS general speaking test consists of three different sections. A native speaker asks 12 questions you must answer using your microphone. You get 15 minutes to complete this test to evaluate your spoken English abilities.
  • The IELTS general writing test takes 60 minutes, comprising two tasks to check your knowledge of vocabulary and writing styles. The first task (1) requires you to write a letter of 250 words, while in the second task (2), you need to write an essay of 250 words.
